3. BINGHAM – TINTIC TOPS & BOTTOMS OF PORPHYRY CU DEPOSITS (2 days)

Capacity: Minimum 23 / Maximum 30 participants
Trip starts in Salt Lake City Airport at 11am Sept. 30th returning to airport at 3pm Oct. 1st (scheduling fits flights to and from Denver). Visit the National Historic Landmark, and Earth’s largest excavation, the giant Bingham Canyon Mine of Rio Tinto plc to review updates in the genesis and geology of this great deposit, then visit portions of the nearby Tintic Mining District to see portions of an un-mined porphyry Cu system. Registration includes one night lodging (double occupancy) in Salt Lake City Sept. 30th.
